It just stopped making bubbles. i have removed and cleaned the veturi and the mag 7. water flows fine but no bubbles. i have adjusted flow from no to go, and nothing. has anyone had such trouble? any solutions? btw it is running on a 50 gal system externally

Did you clean out the air inlet section that screws in above the venturi (where the hose connects to).

yep, that is clear too. soaked both in vinegar. they did not appear to be clogged at all proir to cleaning.

i used to run seaclones, and they were really bad about getting salt crystals in the air inlet and stopping it up.

ok here is something. i replaced the black air line with a clear air line so i can see what is happening. 4" of water is standing in the airline. this level does not change if i lessen or increase flow to the skimmer. and i can blow bubbles through the airline but the water returns to stand at 4" in the airline????

sounds like salt cyrstal is right at the intake on the venturi and blocking skimmer from utilizing the air hose. Just a thought....

if the airline clogged, could i blow through it? and/or could water flow into it?

Just thinking scientifically here...but if it was clogged enough to keep it from creating a suction then it might back up in htere but you could still blow through it. Not thinking completely clogged just enough to stop it from working correctly.

just a thought.

I had that problem when I had mine. You may still be able to blow air through it primarily because you are forcing it through any tiny space but the majority is cloged enough to keep it from skimming (I did that all the time). To keep the salt from building up, make a hole in the top of the skimmer cap and put the air intake hose in the hole.

Just curious, but are you sure that the mag is putting out enough water to get the venturi to work. Nothing got messed up with the pump when you cleaned it apart and you are getting the correct amount of water out of it.
