new BTA question

well, i think it was a combination of my clowns beating it up and it not eating in 5 days. my BTA finally downed a piece of krill, and has now, overnight, re-bubbled back up, so to speak. i moved the clowns to the quarantine tank last night, and now since the BTA looks 200% better, i was wondering if i could move them back in. thoughts?

I wouldnt have taken them out. You can put them back.

why not pete? just curious in case this happens again, id like to know the 'proper' way to treat them. thanks!

In my tank when the BTA "deflates" the clowns just look at it and try gettin in, but there really isnt anywhere to go. They will do this occasionally.

thts exactly what they did. they hovered hear it but it wouldnt open up. so about 2 hours after i moved the percs, the anenome opened up enough so i could put a nice sized piece of krill in its mouth. turned off the lights after that, everythings back to normal today :)

Pete likes to scold his clowns when they get too rough with an anemone. He made a special paddle for spanking and everything. :lol

No, seriously, Pete has had uncanny luck with his clowns. He's got like a zillion, and he even managed to mix them up (ie black and withes and trues). We went over there and there were like 8 different kinds of clowns all 'cuddling' in one very overpopulated rose BTA. :pics

Clowns can get too rough for anemones sometimes, and basically annoy them to death. We've never had to deal with it though, so I wouldn't know where to begin. Im curious about this too...any thoughts?

when i stuck my hand in to remove the clowns, man was i surprised. the bigger of the 2 started harassing my finger something awful! my gf was watching and was like 'rob wth are they doing??'. i told her they were defending their home. then she went awwwwwwwwwwww thats so cute ect ect all girly like...

UGH. about an hour after i put the clowns back in, they caused the anenome to close up again. what are my options at this point?
