we went to the coast this weekend and did a little sargasso(sp?) scooping in the surf. lots of little shrimp, as usual, but also got three pipe fish about 2 inches long, two different kinds of silver fish, and a wierd dark brown fish. all of them are smaller than the end of my index finger, but all are already eating some ground up frozen krill. any one know what any of these are? i know, the pics aren't very good, i just put everything in the tank today.

Sargassum has tons of stuff living in it. I've found pipefish, tilefish, sargassum fish and various damsels. Its a cool algae.

yeah its always fun shaking it out - almost like opening chrishtmas presents. (was that a Maastard thing to say or what)

I went to Port Aransas (spelling?) before I started my cytology school and I was shaking that stuff out collecting stuff, I had a pretty good collection and I got greedy and when to shake out some more and on the last one my hands burst into flames (or at least it felt like it). I don't know what did it but it was pretty cool. Needless to say I stopped collecting for the day :lol
