I've found a site which offers Jebo PC fixtures. The price is quite a bit lower than other brands, and I am wondering if anyone is using this brand. I learned with skimmers that you get what you pay for, so I am a little leary of a bargain rate light fixture.

Thanks,
Mark

I have a friend who has one and I wasnt too impressed. I think the "you get what you pay for" applies to these lights as well. The actinic bulbs are not actinic, they are just blue bulbs.

I have heard a lot about lights, what I have found out and looked at, you do get what you pay for but if you think paying for a name is better, than be my guest. Jebo is no longer...as of late last year, a different partner was let into the firm...the name was changed to Odyssea. Most of the parts are manufactured in China and some of the early stuff as Jebo wasn't up to par. They have completely revised their items and now listen to the americans which are buying their products and upgrading. I just got a MH light for my 28 gallon Nano and it rocks, it not only has a 175w MH but also 2 18w blue actinics and yes the bulbs in the Odessey system are true actinic, they use True Actinic 03 phosphorus in their bulbs. Some of the older bulbs were 440nm but now they are true 420nm and state it. If you think that because these don't say " " (insert your favorite maker) that they don't work, you are missing out on some good equipment. I can tell you my corals, fish and all the other critters I now have don't care where the lights come from as long as they are what they need. By the way, two german manufacturers of "blue" bulbs just changed to 420 true actinic bulbs last March and there is still one that marks their bulbs "blue"........?????????????

Jebo isn't the only manufacturer that selss "Blue" (460 nm) bulbs. When you are buying bulbs check and make sure they are actinic (03) bulbs. The blue bulbs are mainly sold for FO systems. This is also what you commonly get in a 50/50 bulb as well.

I have a Jebo 4 X 32 watt on my fuge and the macros could really care less what kind of light they get as long as there is plenty of it.
