Little giant pump not running

I'm trying to figure out what is the deal with this little giant pump I got. Its model 3-MD-SC. When I plug it up, the motor makes a humming noise, but does not turn. I tried turning it bu hand, and the shaft is not stuck. I took out the whole water pump section , so the only think that is left is the atual motor. Any ideas?

I'm not sure exactly. I got it used

Varnish may be off the windings or rust build up on the core has it ever ran since you got it. Sorry in SA or would take a look at it for you.

I took it apart and it looks like one of the bearings has sized. There was rust in that side of the pump, but the coil looks good

Also make sure there is no scale build up on the shaft where it goes through the impellor. It may turn freely by hand, but may bind up when it tries to start up.
