what are you doing there? any diving? i dove the red sea in '75, from aqaba to sharm al sheik, the best dives of my life. then it was all underwater preserve and desert. almost no development. i saw a picture of sharm the other day and it looks like a club med. what is it like now? when we were there we camped in the desert and traveled by landrovers. pulled our own compressor, our guides were israeli so we ate from the sea, great fun!! cant wait to see the pics.

I was in Eilat, and there is actually a Club Med there. The very north shore looks kinda like the strip in Vegas, only smaller. I've got pic of that too if you want to see it. Right now, Eilat is on the border, and you have to cross over into Egypt to go further south. Everyone here says the Reef is much nicer down there(Sanai) but I wasnt allowed to take the rental car over the border. I guess the area in between Taba and Sharm Al Sheik hasnt changed much, still alot of sand, smoking, drinking and diving. I've been told that Sharm Al Sheik is a resort city now though. It actually just had 4 bombs go off there when I was in Eilat, so its kinda good that I didnt make it that far. Check my gallery again for the pics of Eilat if you want to see them. Eilat is actually where the Red Sea factor is at, pic of that are in my gallery too.
