Does anyone know of a place in San Antonio that rents these? I need it for a large PVC skimmer I'm making. None of the welding supply shops I called even sell them.
I wouldn't mind buying one, but I need to practice first.

Acrylic is "welded" chemically using a solvent called Weld-On.

Right. However, this (http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=USPlastic&category%5Fna me=61&product%5Fid=2414) is what I'm looking for. Or any of these. (http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/category.asp?catalog%5Fname=USPlastic&category%5Fn ame=61&Page=1)

I have seen plastic welder for sale at Habour Frieght on Fredrickburg Rd. inside the 410 loop. If they still have them. They looked like the Seeyle model, I have used one before and they work pretty good once you get the hang of it.

Thanks. I know Habour Frieght is pretty cheap. I'll take a look.

Are you going to make it out of PVC instead of acrylic? The link doesn't say anything about working on acrylic.

For those interested, this is what I am going to be working on:
http://www.maast.org/albums/MarkS/aab.jpg
The rendering above is not complete.
It will have four injectors. The injector mounts are designed so that I can bypass any injector as needed, but will also allow me to try out different types of injectors. I am going to try out both Becketts and one type of injector designed by H20ENG at RC. I'll see which works best.
The injectors will be powered by one Sequence Tiger Shark pump. I will add connections to the skimmer for two additional injectors and one more pump, should I ever decide to upgrade.
The bluish tube at the back of the skimmer is a length of 1/2" clear PVC. This will be a water level indicator. It will allow me to see exactly where the actual water level is in the skimmer.
There will also be a removable acrylic viewing window so I can see the foam production within the skimmer.

OK, I bought this and a small compressor. Do you have any tips on making this work? I think the compressor might be too small, but then, I am not sure what I'm doing.
