I have a spare 20g long tank.
Lighting would be a coralife dual 65w
Filtration would be a biowheel 125
Was thinking of making it into a non reef tank.. Maybe getting a Angler after seeing reef69's or maybe a puffer. Any suggestions on cool fish would help, with pics please... Could you keep more than one aggressive fish in this tank.. What about the angler and a puffer???
Thanks
Dan ;)

I think the only kind of puffers you could put in that tank would be something newly born from the Canthigastor family. As far anglers i have no idea. You could also maybe put a small snowflake eel but you are going to have to do something to do with it once it gets to big.

Yep...puffers are definitley out, but tobies are relatives of the puffers and you could do one of them. There are several species of tobies...my favorite is the Valentinie. Eels woul also get too big for a 20g.
There is a species of angler that stays small..reef69 can help you there.

Anglers.., it would have to be a small Pictus a maculatus, (macs are cool but expensive) or a cryptacanthus. You can get any other, but would have to upgrade real soon..talk to Alex, he has a small black commersonni in stock..but those guys get 11 in. and up..

That is alot of lighting for a fish only tank. I ran a 100g fish only predator tank using the stock (Normal output) lights that came with the tank for over 2 years with no problems. For rock I used Texas holey rock, and for filtration 2 Penguin 400's with Bio wheels.
If your looking for Idea's, how about a Live Rock & Coral only tank. SPS only, LPS only, etc. And/or add one or two small Nano fish. However I wouldn't use the Bio Wheel with the Corals. Just use the filter housing for water movement.
Just my thoughts.

I would not suggest a mantis for a glass aquarium..The can get quite large and crack it, although rare, it happens, it depends on the animal..they can either be "gentle" and roam the tank, or crazy and smash the hell out of it..talk to Don-n-sa, hes tha man to talk to about mantis..

How about a small purple lobster? Or a pistol shrimp and shrimp goby combination. Niether of these would need a lot of light and both would enjoy digging around in a nice long tank.

You could also use that tank to raise a bunch of aiptasia in there then get you some berghia and raise those and sell 'em or loan them to people with aiptasia problems.

I have a sps tank in the making that is 29g. Thats why i was thinking about some aggressive fish for this one. The angler seems to be the best idea.. If anybody has anymore suggestions let me know...
Thanks

Ok, Anglers...Most anglers that are available on LFS are either sargassum fish, Gigant frogfish or A. Striatus, (unless you get it special order) most available here in S.A get a large size, so you need a large tank. i would not suggest you put anything else with an angler, they fit anything they can in their expandable jaws. Since you need to monitor what they eat and how much they eat, you must not have any other fish nearby, since he will eat them and the excess off food can rot in their stomachs and kill the angler. One of the anglers natrual pray are lionfish, the venomous spines dont matter, he'll eat it anyways. Anglers like to perch and walk around, i would not suggest an anemone, since they may sting it and therefor kill it. So if you want to start an angler tank, remember he must be there by himself or in male/female pairs, which is very hard in captivity but its doable...HTH's
