****** Rick give them a break..they are tank bred!!! :skeezy JK, they dont know any better, they like the sensation the frogspawn gives them. Since they've never seen an anemone in the life, they dont know its to go in..a good example of instinct..Anyways, if they hate the anemone i would be happy to buy it from ya 8)

My false percs do the same thing ... Happiness is a cozy Frogspawn :wub

And my Tomato Clown hosts in either my plate coral or pipe organ :o

Y'all realize we are raising a new breed of emotionally unstable clowns!

E. quadricolor is not the natural host for your clowns. They might go for it if you remove the frogspawn. Are your clowns true percs or ocellaris? If they're true percs you mght have better luck with them moving into your anemone.

I've also read somewhere that if you can get a photo of some clowns of the same species living in a BTA, and tape it to your tank, they might get the idea. I'm not joking; I've really heard this. I have NO IDEA if it's true or just another absurd myth that I'm now passing along...

I guess I don't feel so bad. I have a pair of Sebae clowns that host in my anthelia and a Perc that hosts a 14" Cup Mushroom. To each their own...

Well, tomatos, clarkiis AND similar clowns will host in pretty much anything..Its clowns like ocellaris, percs , marrons and saddlebacks that are pickier..

my pair of percs won't host in anything! i got a sweet pink tipped green BTA, they won't even look at it. i have a tank full of many corals that i have heard of them substituting, but they just hang out in the top left corner most of the day, and the back right at night, right next to the overflow! the male has even taken the waterslide into the sump, i sure wish they'd just go swim around in that BTA. i actually sat watching them for about 3 hours after i put them in waiting for them to go for the BTA, that's kind of funny now that it's been about a month and a half. i'm sure glad i gave up watching when i did!

Our true percs host a frogspawn too...I love it! Dont have to worry about coming home to find an anemone in a powerhead!
