I've got a digital RANCO ETC (Electronic Temp Controller) with a temp probe that's gone off the deep end. It registers 156F at my room temp. I figure being in the salt water has caroded it. I thought first that a delta T was a delta T, but even in ice water the thing doesn't drop much and I'm not into calc or what ever it would take to figure out what it really is telling me.

Any ideas on replacing this probe. It's a two-wire probe soldered into the unit. I have no problem soldering another thermocoupling (is that what it's called?) in place if I could find one, but all I can find are people who sell assembled units.

Any ideas for fixing my unit?

Can you e-mail Ranco directly for replacement parts?

I couldn't find a website or email or phone number.

I saw on the diyreef site that he's closing up shop.

That's the company's site, Tim. I *even* checked one more time before claiming I couldn't find it. I have no clue how I missed it. Deep in the catalog I've found accessory probes. No mention of my controller, but I've sent them an email. Hopefully they'll sell directly to an American or point me to a distributor. Thanks for the help.

Doesn't look like the diyreef guy has any Ranco stuff left.
