I was wondering what kind of bulb life I can get from 2 48" T5's, electronic ballast, I think maybe thats all they run on, but not sure.

The bulb life is said to be 1-1.5 years.

I think they're still new enough not to have much real world data out there, but I was told 2 years by alex as well

I have never understood how the size of the glass tube makes a difference in how fast phosphor breaks down if the same amount of electricity is run through it. If you used T-3's would they last twice as long as a T-5?

the reflectors are said to increase efficiency by200-300%. bulb life is expected at 2 years
