Probably can't be fixed. If it is that far gone, the rest will likely follow. What is your tank temp? Have you had this coral long or is it a new addition?

OOps, Just saw in your heading that it is a recent purchase. How long did you acclimate it and what were your acclimation procedures?

Brains are easily bruised by rubbing against live rock or anything else hard. They can also be bruised during shipment or even your handling when placing it in the tank.

If you see pieces of tissues flaking off go ahead and get it out of there.

It may only be one of the brain polyps that is dying. Your brain may have more than one lobe. As long as the other side is staying inflated I would say wait.

Just crank up your skimmer and maybe run some carbon to control the waste coming from the dying side.

yeah, only one side is dying. i don't have a skimmer or carbon. i just have the filteration system that came with the tank. it's a 12 gallon nanocube.

Do some frequent water changes until the brain stabilizes. I'd do a 10 gal. water change every couple of days.

How much light do you have in your Nano? Do you have the one with the upgraded PC lights?
