My dang arrow crab just ate one of my brand new cleaner shrimp. I don't think the bank has even processed my bebit card payment yet... :angry

Not very likely the arrow attacked it. More than likely the cleaner was dieing and the arrow took advantage of it.

Arrows can make for a bunch of expensive lessons, can't they?

Well the other cleaner seemed to be picking on him also (they were bought at the same time) during acclimation and the fish actually starting to eat at his tail when I dumped them in. I had to get the net and stop them.

I agree with Tim..arrow crabs are scavengers, they dont attack anybody..if it was a coral banded shrimp..thats a diff. story..those %#@!%&! can do some damage if they get a hold of something..

yeah, i cant put any more chromis in until i get rid of the coral banded... i have watched him stab a fish, then cut off its fins and let it go..... to die....
im scurred of him even.

Ummm...according to Calfo and Fenner, that's not true: "...renowned for eating bristleworms but also for killing small fishes and other crustaceans. It is a true carnivorous species and perhaps a measurable burden on other desirable microfauna in live sand and live rock..."

A picture, better yet a VIDEO is worth a thousand words...

Here are two videos of my old arrow crab.

They require delicate placement in a reef tank... though mine never ate anything but tons of bristle worms....
OK OK I admit, I fed it tons of bristle worms :-p

My arrow crabs keep commiting suicide :( One backed into my RBTA the other into my Plate Coral. Then they just sit there. Tried to move them away, and they went back & eneded up dead.

I think I need an invertabrate shrink?
