First let me say a big Thank You to Chris for all of his hard work. He has really made a great web site for us and I really appreciate all of his hard work. I am a Systems Analyst and I help maintain our church's web site so I know that he is spending countless hours working on our web site.
That said, what do ya'll think of the new changes?
The only thing I have seen that I don't really care for is the way the New topics and posts are marked. It is a little hard to see the small "N" denoting a new post or thread. >_< Is there a way to make this stand out more? Maybe color it in or highlight it? Other than this very small criticism, I think the vast majority of changes are excellent and I look forward to Chris making this one of the best we sites on the Internet.
Way to go Chris! You da man! 8)

Polkster13, I agree that the way the New Topics icon looks is going to take some getting used to. I really liked the different colors and the flashing notification on popular threads. Maybe some alternate colors instead of the little N would be good?

Agree with both on the new topics. It was funny because I was looking at it the old fashioned way this morning and when I refreshed the new ones had taken place. Quite the eye opener at the moment.
Great job Chris on keeping this thing up and going.
Now where's my charter member designation. :D

Thanks guys for the comments. I will definately take the critique into consideration and look into a more obvious way to change the "new post" graphic.
The images we're now using are nearly half as small in file-size compared to what we previously used. That, combined with the more sleek look is a positive change in my eyes. Nothing will be perfect for everyone however.
Overall, the new images will coincide with future graphic changes I have planned for the site. It will be a long process but 1 more step has been achieved. ;)

Chris, I just noticed something else (or re-noticed it, lol). Could we change the default posting time to our timezone? I sent a PM to JimD, and the timestamp on it reads: Mar 01, 2005 - 06:57 AM. I've checked my Postnuke profile, and it specifies, Central time, so I'm pretty sure that's not it. Is it possible that the board is getting it's time somewhere else?
Thanks!

Refresh your browser Josh, they've been changed over the last few minutes to a blue color.

I saw the new graphics at home this morning. At work I am still seeing the same old ones. Am I just special?

You're viewing the images saved in your web browsers cache. A few hits of the refresh button might update the images.

Cool. I also appreciate the little black arrow pointing to the new posts as well. I have seen that on several other sites as well. Much better.
Thanks again for all of the hard work you are doing.

While I found the little "N" to be too subtle, I think it wasn't as bad as the very light blue icon on a light blue background. I'm not sure what options there are on the new post icons, but I like the old one better >_<

When you go into the forum (say For Sale/Trade) there is a small black arrow next to each new post. As far as the main forum page listing all of the forums, I agree with captexas in that the light blue sheet versus the white sheet is a little difficult to distinguish. Maybe a darker color would work better.
The buttons for New topic, Post Reply and so forth have a soft blue outline with white letter is also hard to read. If the outline color was black (or at least darker) it wouldn't be so hard on my aging eye sight.

DOW posted that the time was off on his posts. I have noticed the same thing and have also checked my PostNuke profile. I have also refreshed it and the times are still off. I am using the FireFox browser if that makes any difference. Any help with this would also be greatly appreciated.

Polkster, change your Postnuke profile timezone to GMT. The little message I had near the timezone was overwritten with the upgrades from last month. The hosting company has their server time set a little odd and wishes it to remain that way.

The idea is to force more attention towards the text areas. Your mind will eventually start to ignore it and pay more attention to what's being said. :lol

I still don't see the little arrows and miss the little red "N" too. I already have to wear glasses while on the computer, now i gotta really strain! >_<

Jenn,
When you are on a specific forum page, you will see several columns listing all of the threads for that forum. The first column shows a sheet of paper with the top right corner folded. If it is white, then you have read the posts on that thread (or marked them read). If it is blue, it has new posts that you have not read. The next column is an icon column for "?" marks, smiley faces and the like. The next column is the thread title column. If a thread has new posts to it, you should see a small black arrow pointing to the right followed by a small white sheet of paper with the top right corner folded and then the thread title. After you look at the thread and return to the list of thread titles, the arrow and the folded sheet of paper to the right of the thread will disappear (if you navigate like me, you have to use the refresh button).
Hope this helps.
