I cant find pickling lime anywhere in SA, but I came across this stuff today.

Would this be ok to use as a kalk substitute?

There is a analysis label on the side. From what I can gather it is nothing more than calcium hydroxide and magnesium hydryoxide. I can provide details if this would help.

I would be concerned about the impurities in the material. For example, phosphates are not an issues in a garden. Phosphate is part of most fertilizers.

I wouldn't use it! I only use ESV and Kent in a pinch.
