Court Jester Goby

I have a court jester goby in my 30 gallon. it seems like he goes into hiding every so often. he disappears for up to about 2 days at a time. i never know if he died or what. Does anybody know why he could be doing this?

Seriously though, We hardly ever see our pink bar goby in the 100g. I would assume he's alive unless you find him dead on the ground (they like to jump).
