Any design flaws before I break out the saw and screw gun?
I intend on using mostly 2x4 and 2x6.

Mike, from the drawing I can't tell which end of the sump the drain from the tank is draining to, or where the rturn pump is conected? Your skimmer should suck/blow into the same area as the tank return, to avoid bubbles returning to the tank. also, place the baffles so that the return/sump area (Where your return pump is connected) is as large as possible.

Dan is building the Fuge and Sump as we speak!

Tank is already in San Antonio, Stand is supposed to be here on Tuesday!
Getting Closer!

Also a friend of mine installed 14 more plugs on 2 completely new circuits all the way from the panel today.
I have plenty of power!!, not to mention I already had 8 plugs in the room.

I am going to add some more bracing to the stand, to tie the two sides together, its very sturdy now, but will be like a tank when I get through with it.
It is made of 2x6 and 2x4 boards .

Will post more pics when tank, sump and Fuge gets here.

WOW!!! that is looking good. your on your way now. how high is that brace on the end of the stand? will the filter slide though there?

Dan,

I put the low end braces at 19".
Such that your 18" sump will just slide right in.

Cannot wait till you get the fuge and sump done!!

That's going to be a nice setup with plenty of room to work!!!

I am told the tank is already in San Antonio and the stand is supposed to be here tommorrow or Wednesday.
I can probably come get it this evening or tommorrow.
I am off work until the 4th of January after tommorrow, so I can return anytime.
