What is your favorite fish? Why? If you had to associate a fish's personality, what fish would you choose?
I would have to say, so far, my avatar nails it. I love the maroon clowns, they are a tad bit goofy, a lot of fun to watch, and very full of life. They also don't like to leave their home very much, (like me, Im glued to my tank watching them playin their home!) There is also something to say about their pugnaciousness, though I assure you, unlike them, i don not bite my spouse or rub my cheeks on her with intention to harm. :)
What about you? (yes, this is a blatant attempt at reading material :) )

LMAO...heheh...yer funny!
Yeah, I'd have to vote for the clowns (we have 3 false percs) for the best personality. Although, when we had our FOWLR tank, the Picasso trigger was most enjoyable to watch. He was like the little policeman of the tank - keeping the peace. And the way his top "trigger" fin would stick up when he was feeling frisky...skimming the top of the water with his trigger up, he almost resembled a wee shark. Loved that fish's personality! But all in all, the clowns have my heart ;)

Flame angel for the prettiest, but my clowns have the most personality.

My favorite fish is any fish that will willingly come to the surface to have its head scratched, so far that list includes my Foxface, Piccaso Trigger and the giant Oscar that used to be at Pet Corral....

I would have to agree with Wendy, we love our clowns. We have a pair of true percs and 3 black and white ocellaris...the percs have a bit more of personality, we love just laying down and watching them play , so much better than watching tv..lol

lyretail anthias for me. he acts like the tank cop kinda like CD's trigger although i havent seen him skim the top like a shark, that would be cool, he sure is neat looking though.

For me this is a tough question...I really dont have a fish that I don't like but if I have to decide, my favorite fish is a whale shark, but for obvious reasons I do not have one in my tank. :(
My favorite fish in the aquarium trade has to be my porcipine puffer...wow what a personality! I could go on and on but put it this way...he's family, kind of like a dog or cat. 8)

My favorite fish.....hmmm...
is this alive or not alive(tried to be kind about it).
My green wolf eel first and then followed by my huma huma trigger..they are soooo greedy...and will eat food out of each other mouths..
but i would have to say my all time favorite WAS my lobster,he was about 4 and a half inches and didnt take anything from anybody...I use to watch him snap his claws at passing fish when they got to close to his home...i really miss him.....*sniff sniff*

My favorite used to be my cowfish until tonight...
Tomato Clown has taken that spot. He just loves to snuggle in his anemone.

My favorite fish is my radiata, but the one with the most personality by far is our lawnmower blenny. It eats so much it constantly looks like it is going to explode. When he decides to rest he props his belly up on a rock and lets his tail fin dangle in the stream...it is hilarious. When we have our hands in the tanks he just sits back and watches us and if he happens to be where we need to be, we physically have to move him ourselves...and I'm not talking about a friendly nudge, he ignores those. I swear he watches us just as much as we watch him!!!

there is something about those clowns playing in their anemonies... off all the fish I think clowns and probably puffers are easy to make anthrophamorphic leaps.. (did I spell that right?) (the association of human amotion to animals). something about how those clowns wiggle and play. :) how puffers watch you...
My wife likes to feed the fish, its one of her stress relief moments when she gets home, and she forbids them to ever be fed without the person feeding saying "come here! come on!" or something like that... it's gotten to the point that when the fish hear her, they go to the top of the tank and look around... "Hey... where's my food human!?"

I will say clown ... although there are much better fish to look at my clowns eat out of hand and if I wanted to I can pick them up when working on the tank.

The fish I think is the the most beautiful and the one that has always been my favorite is the Flame Angel. My second choice would be a Naso Tang, they are very pretty and mine is a total pig, tears up seaweed like he is a great white shark! lol.

My favorite is the blue spot jawfish. Currently my favorites in tank are my marine betta , lyretail hawkfish, leopard wrasse and powder brown tang. I am extremely fortunate to have gotten such healthy specimens of the leopard and the PBT as both are thriving in my system.

I would have to say Bangaii Cardinal fish... I'm hoping to get a mated pair for my new set-up. They are very unique looking fish... and pretty hardy, too! :)

I think my favorite fish was my Zebra Moray Eel......I could pick him up and move him without worry at all. I would hand fed him and he would come up and gently take it out of my hand but when I put the shrimp on the feeding stick he would tear it up like a rabid dog. It was funny. I was kind of like he knew he could hurt me but decided not to. He was smart and an awsome fish. I wish I still had him but he got too big for my tank.
Second to that I would have to say my tangs......I LOVE tangs even though they are pain in the butt sometimes.

1. My pair of black/white ocellaris are great to watch...they host a large colt and at night when colt has shrunk, they wedge themselves between branches and sleep - they remind me of hushpuppies....could scoop up with my hands. The coloring of black against white is incredible.
Common I know - but my yellow tang "surfs" the powerheads over & over. Flips him around and he barrels back for more. And love to watch my Regal Tang power swim thru the tank & rocks...wow - had him since he was tiny - over 2 yrs now.

I really like my regal. He just plays in the tunze streams all day. I moved and put everything in a 100gallon rubbermade tub he just swam circles around it really fast, for about three days straight. It made me laugh so hard, just watching him over and over and over.. I also love to watch clowns of any type.

I have to say the triggers that BA has now - especially the picasso. He would eat from my hand, follow me when I walked by, and would play with small pieces of broken dead coral like toys, carrying them to the top of the tank and letting them fall, then doing it all over again.

Haha... no kidding...
I saw an absolutely gorgeous Cheveron Tang at AT here in Austin, a few weeks ago... Made me want to move to Hawaii, so I could have them in my backyard, like someone else we know does!

I saw... what was it... an interupted angel? is that the right name? on liveaquaria a while back, that fell into the 'gorgeous one you can't afford' category. I also like mandarin goby's, porcupine puffers (though I haven't had either, the hook my attention when I see them.)
