Has anyone seen anything like this before?
It's very cool and strange at the same time... :?
These pictures don't do it justice.. The body is almost a fluorescent-neongreen color and the tips are hot pink...
I have to say it freaks me out everytime I see it... LOL

It looks like a bleaching rose anemone to me. I hope I'm wrong about that.

It's been in the tank for a while now. I don't think it's a dyed one because this came from that big group order of RBTA's ~ maybe 6 months ago? I don't remember... Did anyone else's turn color??
It's not mine... it belongs to 1salt its in his 75g.

Strange how pretty some animals can become just before they die. In addition to feeding it alot make sure your lighting is sufficient. What type of lighting do you have and when is the last time you replaced the bulb?
Man, I have got to quit staying up so late reading MAAST!

I had this happen to me also. I had a purple tip rose and it turned this color. It just spit on me so I would have to say that I don't think its dying, But what do I know?
I was told that the algae in it is really healthy, but again that is hearsay.

Its been this color almost since the beginning (6 mths) I know it's target fed several times a week and it eats good! In addition to feeding he was dosing Kalk but now I think it's only the b-ionic. As for the lighting there are 2-250wtt MH and T5's running in that tank. I dont think it's dying. It appears to be thriving the tips get inflated and looks very happy. It seems to like that spot where its at (top center of the tank) because it hasn't moved from there at all. It also hosts a large maroon Clownfish who's "in love" with it.....LOL The clownfish is just WAY to big to lay in it so it rolls its whole body on it and digs it's face in it all the time... LOL
What are some other signs to look for if it were to be dying??
If it's been like this for 5+ mths wouldn't it have died already?
Thanks for all of your input ... ;)

I didn't mean to say your anemone was dying. I was just saying that corals & anemones can look pretty when they are bleaching (i.e. dying).
Sounds like you have good lighting and are feeding him well. Could be that he bleached a bit when you first got him and is holding on just fine now. He may eventually color back to normal.

OHHH.... one word 2 totally different meanings. For a minute there I thought it was a gonner....LOL
I guess we'll see if it does get it's color back after a while. Just trying to figure out why it did this and if anyone elses did the same....
Thanks ~TG~
