I just noticed that my flame hawk has some spots on him. It looks like mold, and its down by his tail. I cant get a good picture. Does anyone have any ideas?

How big are the spots, and what color are they? Are the spots raised, or more flat looking?

Here are some discriptions of common marine fish diseases. See if any of these sound familiar, and let us know. I'm still searching for a site with pics, but check this out in the mean time:

I've never seen a Flame hawk get lymphocyctis. It usually starts on the edges of the fins and in advanced cases it will start down the lateral line.

Flame hawks tend to come in with flukes. If it were me I would do a FW dip. I have found them to be extremely tolerant of FW dips. One time I got busy and forgot about one. He was in FW for 1 1/2 hours and was just swimming around like everything was fine. If you do dip him, do it in a clear container or fish bag. If it is flukes you will see them swell up and fall off after 2 -3 minutes. It's very obvious.

Post a pic if you can get one.
