View Full Version : How many holes in Oceanic 180?

You'd be better off calling Oceanic or maybe Aquatrend on that one. IIRC, there was someone about a year ago having problems with an aquatrend tank breaking because they had like 4 holes drilled down the center of the bottom glass.

Is this going to be a bare bottom tank, or are you loading it up with sand. If your using sand, you could always run some plumbing through the sand, and have your holes on the back glass...

Why holes in the bottom of the tank? I'm sure you understand that if there's ever a leak...hoo boy. I guess with that monstro-sump you're planning you're getting confident!

If these are to be drain holes for the closed loop, I'd put 'em near the top.

I think they did 4 holes in the bottom for wkopplins 215. That was the most they would do.

I would put them on the back also if it is a tank with a centerbrace. Oceanic won't drill the sides on the brick styles since those tanks are design to bow a bit, 1/2" on the 215.
