I have a finger leather that i bought at fin-addicts, ive had it for a few months..the thing i started noticing was..sometimes it closes..it kind of contracts itself and the polyps wont come out for a few days..5-7 days..ive read sometimes they shed some type of skin..anyways, im a bit worried about it since it hasnt opened in over 5 days..the coloration looks normal, when the lights go off it contracts even more..no idea whats going on..

I wouldn't worry about it. Mine have done the same thing for a week or so. Its probably just getting acclimated.

It will do it occasionally, as you said to slough off "skin". Just make sure it has moderate flow to help sloughing off the tissue.

As Gary said it will do this every so often to "clean itself".

Don't make the flow to strong. I made the mistake of doing that once with my monster toadstool. When they are irritated they pump out a lot of toxins.
