I grew up north of Snyder, have family in Midland, and used to live in Alpine. Welcome to MAAST. It's a great community, and very helpful, even if they don't know what it is to be dry, lol.

LOL Holiday Inn Express. I think if you stay at a Holiday Inn and carry a pack of Mintos around you can do just about anything you want and get away with it. LOL

Oh, sorry, did I forget to mention I was eating mentos?

Mark,

Welcome to MAAST. TexasRanchers are in San Angelo. Not sure how much reef stuff they are into, but I know they are seahorse breeders.
It sounds like you guys in W. Texas need to start a group up there.

It would be nice to have a group out here but I don't know how many people a person could find. they have a group in lubbock but I registered over a month ago and still haven't got a logon. they wont even answer the emails that have been sent.

That is almost as far as San Antonio. There is also one in Dallas. It seems we are out here in a dead zone. There is only one LFS in the area that anything and their selection is not that good. They still run undergravel filters in all the tanks. Every fish but one that I have bought from them has died except for the flame angel.

Welcome Mark. There use to be a forum with a lot of west Texans on it but a big conglomerate ate us up. Enough said. MAAST is a reallly good group of ppl. It is difficult to make the meetings. But you can get a lot of help here in any field from ppl who are knowledgable.
DFWMAS is also a good group. Still growing and also are helpful in many areas.
TexasRanchers are Charter Members with both boards.

Texasranchers, I just moved from San Angelo 9 months ago. I couldn't make a living there. Nice town but no wages.

What type of work are you in? I am so glad that hubby is civil servant @ GAFB. Good pay, benefits, health care, etc. I was a Realtor, but retired in Nov or Dec 2003,so I could take care of my tanks.

We don't have a big tank just lots of water. 2 X 55, 1 ec. 35, 29, 10, 1, 1.

While I was living there, I was an agent for Summit Global Partners on Concho and my wife was a nurse. We had a house in Santa Rita and the taxes just kept going up and the payments were just too much. We moved to Midland and I am teaching high school now. Better money and more time off.

We have a scattering of members from West Texas. We have one very active member from Andrews. That's the closest to Odessa that I know of. His user name here is bprewit.

Mark, welcome to MAAST!

I live in West San Antonio - you can probably get to Fin-Addict (NE-SA LFS) faster than I can ;)

So, do you buy most of your livestock online?
How's your tank's evaporation rate? :unsure
