Just browsing through the MAAST board, I came across a handful of folks raving about the new store Fin-Addict. Being fed up with the other lfs in my area, I decided to give FA a try and drove out today, hoping to pick up a few snails. What I found is a small but clean store, with a nice selection and attentive owners. I cant say enough good things about this place, they simply bowled me over.
All of their stock was healthy and attentive, didnt see a single sick fish anywhere in that store. It was out of the way and kinda hidden, but well worth the effort. Felipe and Sarah were super nice, very friendly and quick to answer questions or just chat. Felipe especially blew my mind when I asked "What else besides a conch would eat my diatoms?"... he said "Im not sure, hold on." and broke out an algae book. He then proceeded to LOOK IT UP, and show me what else would work.
Im sorry... but whoa, where other lfs employees at other stores would just make something up (with $$$ in mind), he actually went through the trouble to look it up and show me. That was it, that was the clencher. Before I knew it, I was buying snails, a conch, a flame hawk, and an algae blenny. And I WILL most definitely be back. My new favorite lfs!!

Tuesday seems to be the best day to be there (although I keep missing it). Very nice store. Felipe and Sarah are nice people who run a good shop.

Yea, thanks for the link Barry. Just a warning to anyone who ventures out looking for FA, theyre sorta tucked away in a little shopping strip (so be watching for the address). Apparently they had a sign which recently blew away (literally), so I almost passed them right up. I just happened to stop and drive into the strip parking lot to turn around and was dumbfounded by the huge painted reef above the shop (which is hard to see from the street, as its blocked by another store.. or maybe a gas station). Still, well worth the search.

Yeah....I'm "Addicted" also....both Felipe & Sara have been great each time I go...and they are very busy but take the time to work with you personally. Felipe has worked with me in finding "cool" things to add to my 2 gal Nano I got there. He also knows that attitude and friendly customer service is a must...hope it continues. Their stock is healthy and some quite interesting specimens also. Tuesdays are very busy for them...but they recognize you're there & will get to you. Worth the trip... :D

Once you go finn-addict, you never go anywhere else! BTW, the FAA(fin-addict anonomous) support group meets next week. LOL.

I bought with them 10 or 12 corals in the past 2 months and they are quite good and growing, one example is this beautiful Rose Capricornis.

I'll second that Dan... I dropped by again today and Felipe was nice enough to show me his setup. Incredible!! We probably talked for a good hour about various reef filtration techniques, xenia, skimmers... all useful info to me, since Im currently overwhelmed with my first reef setup. :-o

Youre right Joshua, he was running a huge Jaubert system. In fact I think he had somewhere around 500lbs of reef sand in there. I was only agreeing that his setup is impressive. =)
