i bought mine at radio shack. just put the probe in the tank which is the outside temp. reading and everything else is the same. indoor temp. will tell you how hot it is in your room. it also has a humidity reading. cost: around 25.00

Whichever you buy, keep an eye on it and test its accuracy with a regular thermometer every so often. I had one and found it went bad after a couple months. It showed my temp to be around 80 when it was really up to 87.

That is a good price. Radio Shack ones run about the same price.

I have had a NUMBER of radio shack ones. I still use one that records high and low temps for inside and outside and humidity.

I think I paid about $8 for a temp. only Radio Shack thermometer.

Yes, that is what I get them for when they are on sale. I picked up one that was for a hot tub last time I was in SA. It looks just like all the other ones, but the wire only measure the temp on the probe. I paid like $6 for it. I love radio shack temps. Inexpensive, and they work well for a long time.
