hi,

I was wondering if anyone would do a little consulting for me. I have a ambitious project that I am working on and I would appreciate some advice on plumbing and a little electrical work.

I am doing a 240g that will have all equipment and a fuge plumbed into a closet that is behind the wall in which the tank will be. I called the builder to ask about the wall and was told that it is not load bearing.

I also want to tile a 11' x 3.5' pad that the tank will rest on.

If there is anyone with a similar type set up I would love to come and see and get some tips, and if they would mind coming over to my place that would be great. I know that scuba stevo offered for me to come over so that will probably my first visit.

please note that if you are someone with considerale experience and can dedicate some time with me then I will be open to compensate for your assistance.

I have it p0lumbed the same way, as does Blake. You are more than welcome, mine is still a work in progress though. Steves is much more elaborate, but his is also an inwall. Mine is not, just plumbed through to a closet.

Don-n-sa: My project is very much a work in process, in fact I don't even have any water flowing yet. But ... I did many hours/months of planning before I started anything. I would be happy to show you what I have done, and how it will (I think) all fit together. That said, I doubt I could assist, my spare time is consumed by my own project at this time!

Send me a PM if you think this would help?

- Steve

Steve,

hey thanks! I have got to see your project...you are doing something that we all wish we had the time, money, patience, space... oh and the spouse that would put up with turning the house into a mini sea world exibit.

I am always up to hosting a fish party and I do have a large Bar-be-que and home theatre. You all can come over after Alex's on Sunday and we can talk fish, grill up some food, and watch football. Let me know what you think about that!

Steve,

that sounds good to me...Btw what kind of home theatre equipment do you have?

I have a set up also, it rocks! put it this way, I rarely go to the movies anymore because I would rather watch them at my home.

My theatre is a sony hi def XBR widescreen tv, sony Es receiver with dts 6.1, sony ES DVD ( 400 discs! ) player with super audio, my speakers are all hi end KLIPSH models ( 6 speakers total ) with the sub being 400watts! I sometimes worry about the sound scaring my fish!

I just set mine up too.........HK receiver with Onkyo fronts, HK center, and Wharfdale bi polar rears. I do need to upgrade the sub, its a cheezy onkyo. All this is off a Mitusbishi HD.

TV is a 36" wega tube...It's the next thing to be upgraded
I have an Onkyo receiver, Polk speakers (their high end ones from 3 years ago), big velodyne sub
It's only 5.1 and the room is too small but the sound is great
