I've bought some at texas tropical as snacks for my RES! jejeje :-D The are about 50 cents each. unless your friend is looking for the electric blue ones, they sell them for $15-$20 at texas tropical and fintique also has some from time to time.

Pete - yeah, I've seen them at Alamo before. Might have to look around for them, but they are there.

You can call and check but some of the HEBs used to carry them from time to time for boiling. There's also a guy that would park off of the highway when you exit to Braunig lake that used to carry them for bait.

if he is interested in fresh water shrimp, there are some really neat ones available at www.azgardens.com filter feeders, algae eaters and so on, some are pretty neat... i doubt it will happen anytime soon, but it seems freshwater planted tanks are catching up with reefers as far as diversity goes... (I just don't think they have enough potential diversity to ever come close however.)

I hope he realizes they will eat small fish if they can catch them.

He does, but the other concern is the fish eating them. He has some large ones.

They make darn good bass or catfish bait.

I saw one of those blue crawfish over at Polly's Pets on Pat Booker Rd. yesterday in their plant tank. I usually stop by there whenever I get my oil changed in the company van, which is almost once a month. They redid their center display tanks, kind of cool. One is saltwater and has exotic/preditor fish. It had a blue-dot stingray and like 3 small sharks in it.
