Tough Question, but i'll try to answer it the best i can. All of the stores in SA have a few things that they differently from each other: each having their own specialties. I'll focus on the positive things that they do.
Texas Tropical: Great Selection on all kinds of fish; friendly and knowledgable staff...who will give you honest answers...(especially Yves).

Aquatic Warehouse: Great selection on inverts, good selection on fish, friendly staff that doesn't mind spending a lot of time with you to answer your questions completely; very good prices on dry goods; they use RO/DI water for all of their livestock and will sell you some if you need it for your tank. If you need live rock and no one on MAAST is selling any, then this is the place to get it.

Alamo Aquatics: Excellent selection on all kinds of fish; good selection on inverts; friendly staff (although, i haven't spent a lot of time here) I did buy a 200g bucket of Oceanic Salt there yesterday for only $39.99 (Cheap!!!) :)

Polly's Pet Store: Good selection on fish, a few inverts
Petland: Good selection on fish, a few inverts
Forever Pets: Good selection on fish, a few inverts
Fintique: Good selection on fish, a few inverts, and if you need live brine, then this is the place to go. Staff seems friendly and they also have the cheapest bulk carbon in town (but yes, it is all the same)
CB Pets: This one is outside of San Antonio (but close enough) Excellent selection on fish, good selection on inverts that seems to grow everytime i visit there, and the staff is very friendly and will answer any questions (and if they don't know, they won't pretend to know)
Fin Addict: This is San Antonio's newest lfs and it's most unique. They have the friendliest staff, a good selection of fish, and a great selection of inverts (that is growing) and if you need macro or real live sand then this is the place to go. I could go on and on about this new store (oops...i already did), but for more info, do a search in this forum on "New Fish Store in SA" and you'll find some additional information.

I kind of like to support Texas Tropicals because they sell my excess corals on consignment.

Without going into detail, Fin Addict and Aquatic Warehouse seem to be the only ones that are owned by people who have reefs in mind. The others just have reefs as an after thought to make some cash. The only draw back to these two stores is their lack of dry goods.

I like texas tropical because Yves works there. He's the man, if you go, make sure you talk to him.

I would trust Fin-Addict with my children... if I had any. Their service is above and beyond any other lfs Ive been to. My favorite, hands down.

Aquatic Warehouse is also nice. Not quite my cup of tea, but nice.

Alamo & Texas Tropicals are my favorites. Aquatic Warehouse & Fin-Addict are nice too, but too far away as I live on the SW side of town.

If you are looking for inverts Fin-Addict and Aquatic Warehouse are the best, recently Alamo offer good inverts also. If you try to find fish go Texas Tropicals and Alamo. And for dry goods also Texas have good prices. By the way where is CB Pets? I stay only one weekend a month in SA and I don't know CB's.

Fernando...CB Pets is located in Bulverde - just north of San Antonio off 281 at 46 (Canyon Lake exit) - take a left on 46 about 1/2 mile - It is located in same shopping center as HEB on your left. Richard is the owner.
