Anyone have experience keeping a Six Line wrasse with another wrasse?
Wondering if I can add a Flasher/Fairy/Threadfin wrasse without starting WWIII.
Both would be in a 180g.
Thanks,
Ed

In my 120 I have 2 China Wrasses, a six-line wrasse, and a Coris Wrasse - all with no problems... They have all been in there for at least 4 months. The biggest prob I have is with pod supply. I have to suppliment with lots of BBS.

Glad to hear that Misti!
My six-line keeps the pod population decimated as well, but eats other things.
Have you tried the small Spectrum pellets? I was surprised to see my six-line stop hunting and go after these pellets.

They all eat other things, too. They just prefer the pods. And I do use the Spectrum pellets. My Engineer Gobies LOVE them.

Thanks greenmako,
The six-line is in a tank by himself at the moment. Didn't want to put it in the 180 until I decide about adding another wrasse.

I have 2 six lines in a 175, and they get along great. I mainly have them in there becaus they are eating the parasitic snails off my squamosa clam. No pods anywhere though :?

I have 2 six lines in my 70 and they do fine -- I did put them in at the same time. They eat the frozen mysis shrimp and bloodworm that I put in the tank and I guess they are keeping the squamosas "clean"

Thanks for all of the input.
After Greenmako's experience and reading this article:

It looks like the Six-Line may not play nice with other wrasses (among other things). :scold:
Bummer.

I have a mated pair of six lined wrasses. I added a pair of yellow heliocorus wrasses and the six lined male killed one of them in minutes. The other one jumped to its death. If you have a male, forget about the mix. Mine is cool when he does his courtship thing but during that time he does own the entire 6 foot reef.

I guess my sixline is a female. I have never had any problems. I do know that both of my China Wrasses are female.

I have a sixline and a yellow coris wrasse together. I think if the coris was hassled, he's just go bury himself in the LS.
