You could definately go skmmerless as many people do, as long as you keep up with your water changes.

Shrooms and Xenia actually like slightly dirty water. I have read stories about how there are huge fields of Xenia at the discharge point of waste water plants in Indonesia. You'll need to be careful about which Shrroms you add though. Xenia are entirely photosynthetic, and love a lot of light, and some shrooms don't like high light. You could try to adjust that by placing the shrooms closer to the bottom or back in crevices. Rhodactis shrooms seem to be more high light tolerant than the Discosoma shrooms.

Thanks Gary and Jim, well, the tank i have its a jebo , kinda cube looking, it has 2/ 36 watt 10,000K bulbs and 2 actinic blue bulbs.. I dont know if this is enough for some zoos, a mushroom on a rock , and maybe a RBT anemone down the road..Im going to add a bit more of rock and thats it..but still wondering if a bubble tip would make it..any comments help..thnks!

I have my RBTA under a 96W power quad in a 12 gallon and I still dont think its enough, It may survive under your lights with derect feeding but I doubt it will thrive. 72 watts aint jackola...

Jim...better chance for a Green BTA than a Rose??

Sherri, I have both in my tank under the same lighting, the green bta's seem to shy away from the lights and the rbta seems to like to get as close as possible, so, that being said, Id say yes, he'd have a better chance with a gbta. :-)
Although there are some RBTA's collected from much deeper waters that dont need as much daylight as opposed to blue light to thrive, it just depends on the animals origin.

Thought so, Jim...that's why I'm going the Green BTA route rather than trying another Rose under VHO's...think it may have had something to do with me eventually losing him...
Thanks!
