My grandfathers solution, was, you guessed, it, running a humidifier for years on end... he had it set up so the tub auto-drained into the drainage hole next to his water heater. YOu could probably put one on a timer so it wasn't annoyingly loud while you were down there, set it to run when you aren't around...
how about a trashcan full of sorbigel? :) lol

You may be able to run a small fan on a vent to the outside. This would also help with some air circulation.

I agree with Tim, because basements are not initally planned as living space and you just need to "climate control" it. They are usually cool and damp, I wouldnt say they are humid, but the dehumidifier will take the dampness out. The duct work is probably in the ceiling and you could tap it with register covers to get the heat and ca throughout.

When I had a basement, the humidity depended on the rock/soil its built in and the weather. Some basements are humid, some dry. Paint the concrete and it will help keep it dry inside. Then, add a small economical hang on wall space heater with fan and control dial for the cold months and an auto-shut off dehumidifier. Both these are controled by either thermostats or sensors to shut them down based on your settings. For the dehumidifier, set it to moderate and it will cycle on and off as needed. Many basements have a utility sink and laundry area. Run the dehumidifier drain line into that sink. Basements are great - warm in winter, cool in summer. They "breath" just fine normally so enjoy all your added bonus fish space!
