I'm setting up a 135G FO tank. I'm using lace rock which is pretty porouse, but not live. I wanted to use deep sand bed to get some denotrification, but I wasn't sure if that works well with FO tanks. Anyone using this combination succesfully?

Joshua, so does it really work with FO? do you get 0 nitrates? what size tank and fish load do you have? and why do you say that you wouldn't do it again?

I dont think you could get by on DSB alone. You will be better off if you add a big skimmer and a good sized refug to the DSB. Also, get a couple pieces of real live rock to seed the lace rock that is in there. Also, like Josh said, you'll need to be careful with your fish selection, or really the amount of fish you have in there and try not to over feed.
