ok. how about what brittle stars wont go crazy and eat evey thing. The ones at aquatek are dark and have these little protrustions ever few centimeters on their legs. Would those do ok in a reef?

I don't know about aquatek but, I have two in my 75 reef with no problems. I got mine here, http://www.etropicals.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?siteid=43&pCatId=1297
They seem very hardy, I feed them a small piece of fresh shrimp about once a week.

I had one just like that. Bought it when it was about 4" in diameter & it grew to 6-8" in diameter. It ate every skunk/cleaner shrimp and arrow crab I put in the tank! Otherwise, did a great job cleaning things up, and was neat to watch come out at night!

Like i said, I feed mine a small piece of shrimp about once a week. They will move very fast and aggressively after the food when hungry.

I got a bunch of those out of Florida last year, great little cleaners, but they are hungry.

I had them too and like Tim said they are hungry. I fed mine shrimp and the frozen squid from the multi-pac that the fish wouldnt eat. Just hold a piece near them they will come and get it.

I have two of those along with a green serpent star and they all keep my tank very clean of anything on the bottom and have never bothered anything that was still alive.
