I've had this piece for a while, I noticed today when I fed Cyclop-eez that it's mouth opened up much larger.

Those of you with Fungias, do you make sure they eat like this? I've noticed it only does this when the flow is off. It occasionally catches stuff floating by, but I've never seen it act like this.

I feed mine a tiny piece of fresh shrimp every week or so.

I'll have to try that. I just have to get it past the trigger.

I have trouble with my clown fish stealing the shrimp also. I started placing a dip net over the coral till it gets the shrimp ingested.

I don't have a fungia, but I noticed about a month ago my rhodactus, at around 2 AM when I use da flashlight to investigate the tank was nearly 100% inverted, by that I mean, it's mouth was open so huge I couldn't see it's normal markings... I had seen this once before and was worried that time, this time, I saw a amphipod crawl up in there, and it snapped shut... It was disturbingly like a venus flytrap... is this normal behavior? or do I have a wierdo.

Normal behavior, both corals will eat meaty foods. They like silversides and popcorn shrimp also.
