Hey guys - just wondering if anyone has found a place in Austin that carries dowflake. I need some cheap calcium chloride.... ;)

If anyone is interested in putting a group order together, let me know. We could split one bag and all have several years worth.

I watched that thread. I guess no one found any local? I'd be interested in a group order - I'm not crazy about mail order by myself though because of the shipping....

Yea. Someone needs to place this in the Group orders area and let's get it done. I am out of B-Ionic Ca as of 2 days ago. I would post it but I dont want to be the one to make the order and get it all together. I'm pretty busy right now with a lot of different things.

I would be interested in picking up a few bags for the heck of it. However I am envisioning fiascos like getting HD / Lowes to order a pallet similar to when we asked them to get us a few pallets of southdown :)

A bag is 50 lbs. One bag would be more than enough. A 1 gallon bucket lasts me a year.

Just let me know! :-)

I ordered a 50 lb. bag of Dow Flake today. If anyone wants some, I'll sell it for $1/lb. That sure beats the $10 I just spent for a 7 oz. container at the LFS. Please drop me a note is you want some. I've ordered the 7 lb. buckets of Kent Turbo Calcium in the past. It seems that they were about $45 plus shipping. Its my belief that Turbo Calcium is probably the same or a similar product as Dow Flake, that is food grade Calcium Chloride (CaCl2).

If anyone is interested, drop me a PM.

OK, the DowFlake came in. I'm planning on bagging it up in ziplocks and bringing them to the next meeting. Anyone wanting some, please send me a PM so I can bring enough. If anyone is interested in trying my DIY buffer, let me know as well. I'll make up a batch of that as well.

Robert,

I know some people that have reactors still use Turbo Calcium or Kalk as a way to do some fine tuning of their calcium levels.

I started a new thread on this topic in the group order forum before we get yelled at.
