I saw some of the most beautiful anthias in Houston today. how come few peoiple around here have them in their tanks? From what i read they are peaceful schooling fish.......

The only disadvantage I have heard is you have to feed them a couple times a day. Other than that, they are beautiful fish. I think your supposed to get 1 male and a harem of females.

i had a male a few years ago, but i did'nt know you had to have a few females. they are beautiful fish. maybe i should give it another try.

Many are poorly collected or just don't do well in captivity. Lyretail are going to be the easiest to get and are pretty hardy. You can also just get a group of females and one will switch to male. They do need to eat a few small meals a day and are sometimes hard to get started.
I have one sunburst anthias but they are not really like most of the other anthias.
