Kalk Question

I am going to start dripping Kalk. Someone told me to drip it as topoff water. I have a 2.5gal dripper. SHould i drip ALL my toppff as Kalk? Or,. just do it a couple times a week? Thanks!

I think everyone's tank is alittle different. I dose my kalk as top off water. I top off 5 gallons aday. My kalkreactor goes 24/7. I have dialed the pump to drip 5 gallons aday.

how fast should it drip? Currently its about 1 drop per second

Mine drips at about that rate. I drip it right into my sump near my returm pump.

How much KW you drip depends on your calcium load, evaporation, etc. Drip enough to keep your calcium and alkalinity levels stable, if you can, but not so much as to raise the ph of your tank too much. Dripping at night helps this.

i would drip kalk and buffer, not just kalk. kalk doesn't do much as far as alk is concerned, if you got a 2nd dripline, you could match your kalk with some buffer which would contian your carbonates and borate salts.
