New Store in Austin:

There's a new store in Austin at 183 and Anderson Mill. Their sign isn't even up yet, just a sign that says "tropical fish" or something like that.

It's the same guy that had "Pet Corral" down in South Austin. He just moved the store to North Austin where all the other good shops in Austin are located (sorry, I can't include AquaDome... their tanks look terrible).

Not sure where you were looking, but they do have a sign/banner on the building and have a small sign at the street. I think it is called River City Aquariums/Aquatics. It's in a small building with a few other offices/stores. Haven't been it there, just driven by it a few times.

Well I went by. They only carry freshwater at the moment. This is what the young guy working said. Pet corral was in S. Austin for years. Salt is in the works but not as of now.

There are 2 new stores. Horizon Pets next to Compass bank and River city Aquatics behind the enterprise rent a car. Both are FW stores. Horizon has the possiblilty to survive and someday do Marine. Both seem knowledgable in FW but clueless on Marine. Both have minimal marine dry goods.

I didn't know about Horizon. What street is that on?

Pet Corral was owned by Gary of AquaDome. He sold it a few months ago and is now just involved with AqauDome. It was run by the new owners for a about a month or so then they moved out. I live around the corner and used to stop in there for brine and ghost shrimp from time to time.

Horizon Pets is on the 183 N access road at the Anderson Mill Road intersection. It is located the same shopping center with Compass Bank.

River City is south of Anderson Mill, behind Enterprise Rent a Car and by the That Mexican import place.

River City is off the 183 N access road as well. The closest cross street is Roxie/183 N access road. :-)
