Those are what I've been using. Better than tap but depends on how well they are maintaned. I just recently picked up a TDS meter and the last batch of water I got from my usual machine read at 11 which wasn't very bad.

That's pretty **** good for a water machine... I used that source for about 9 months last year and it worked ok. I always had an algae problem though, im sure it was a contributing factor.

That's what I've been using for the last 8 months and no problems... Looking for a RO/DI unit soon. It a pain getting water all the time.

I just purchased a 6 stage 75 GPD unit off of ebay for $94.50 shipped. They were also willing to throw in a case of prefilters which was 5 each of the 4 prefilters before the RO membrane for $50 no additional shipping, or case of 4 DI cartridges for the same deal with purchase of the unit.
The seller is aquasafecanada if you want to check it out.

As was said earlier, the water from the machines is OK if they are maintained correctly. From what I have seen and heard that is rarely the case. Worst case is that you end up buying tap water because the machine's filters are spent. You are better off buying some large jugs at Wal-Mart and going to an LFS like Aquatic Warehouse or CB pets to buy water. Its cheaper that way anyway.
