Dont know if this is the right forum for this but did anyone see the add in Aquarium Fish mag for JeboLight. 99 bucks for a 220(4-55/2switchs) setup? ? Any Ideas? Is it a steal or just crap.

Not sure about that light but that is really cheap. The money has to be made somewhere so I'm sure the PC tubes are low quality and who know about the ballast. I'd stay away from PC's unless you just really love them, I've used my fair share of them and replacing the bulbs makes it totally not worth it in the end, not to mention they just don't put out as much as a 250w MH would using about the same amount of power. CSL is going out of business so go to www.championlighting.com if you want to find a good deal on a quality PC setup.

Why do you prefer VHO? What is so good about it? Not much cheaper per watt that MH.

The combinations of color that I can get with various bulbs. Other than that. I just do. I have had MV bulbs blow up on me before.

I love the water shimmer of MH though.

I don't know how people can stand the yellowish look of florescent. Even the 10ks without actinics are not very white.

I had one of the JEBO lights. They are pretty good for the price. They cut some cost on them by not using sockets for the lamps, instead there are four single wires to each bulb. That is not really a bad thing, cause it allows You to use either square pin or straight pin bulbs. Only reason I sold mine was that I got a steal on a set of 36" JBJ's.

Wow, So how do they attach to the pins? Did it look mickey mouse or cheap?

I had one in black and it looked pretty good on the 55 I had it on. Some people have been complaining because they are little bumbs on the bottom of the endcaps and the light is exactly 48" long so the bumbs sit right on top of the top frame of Your tank. I never thought it was an issue.
