what does everone think about keeping two chevron tangs in a 175 reef. The one i have is an adult and the other one i want to get is a juvenile.

If you put them in at the same time it would probably be OK. Since it seems that one has been in the tank for a while, I don't think it is advisable. Surgeon Tangs are very territorial.

that is why i am asking. the fish is the most peaceful fish i have, that is why i was wondering what everyone thought. no one wants to throw money away on or deliberitly kill anything. it does not matter that one of the fish is adult and the other juvenile

I would guess that if you added a larger fish to a tank with a small fish it might work. It sounds like you have a situation that is the opposite which would definitely not help.

IMO I would not add two. You will have better luck adding odd numbers. So make it three. Now that would be a site!
