29Tall Tempered Glass?

Do 29g tall tanks have tempered glass?
I am wanting to drill it on the side not bottom.

Probably not. But it depends on who made it.

We drilled the back of RSC's 29 with no problems.

Certain stores might sale you temperated glass at that size. It should be cheap enough for you to order a pre-drilled tank from AquaTrend.
