Hello everyone... I was wondering if anyone has had or still haves a clam under some type of compact? I currently have a coral life 75watt on my 28 gallon bow front and really want to put a clam in there. Will this work???

I also have pc's and have asked the same question. They recommended a Squamosa or Derasa. I have been doing some research on the 2 and next time they do a group order, I'm going to try one. Hope this helps.

Hippopus is probably one of the better choices. Squamosas only get about half the size of derasa, about 12". derasa get up to 20".
Long term though, the more light the better.
ask Jim Norris, the clam guy for expert advice

Yes IMO it is possible to keep a clam under your PCs. Hippopus is a GREAT suggestion for your size tank. A squamosa and derasa will be fine. And even a maxima would be OK (not idea lighting) if feed some type of food.
Hope that helps with the lighting but there are other items to consider. Like: water flow and tank mates.

I've also had a squamosa under PC, and it grew well, but it really started to grow alot more when I switched to MH.
