Does anyone have one like this? I would love to have one like this, but $189 for a 2 1/2in fish, no way I would pay that much!

that has to be a typo. theres no way they could charge that much for a fish like that, u might wanna email them and ask them if it is a mistake, it just seems fishy :P

my 2 cents, steve

Thats not a typo... The Helfrichi firefish is a highly prized firefish from Japan. I have heard of them going for up to $1500. for a mated pair. They are one of those high dollar rare kind of fish.

The fishy part is this outfit having them. I don't think The Marine Center has them. :-o

I'll keep my purple firefish! He's ALMOST as pretty and a lot cheaper! Beautiful colors tho.

Yeah, purple firefish are beautifull, I wish I had the room for one. Ive had a yellow and orange one for well over two years..

Mine digs a hole up against the front glass at night and sleeps there. He fans the sand away with his tail - starts about an hour before lights out and he's ready to settle when they go out. Looks like it has fuschia lipstick on. Neat fish.

Mine does the same thing, its weird that he knows when it is almost time to go to bed :D

Yano...LOL...I watched mine this evening "preparing" for bed. There was a snail in his way, so he works the back part of his body up against the snail and bats him outta there - then continues fanning the sand. Interesting watching him work. :D

lol. My hermit crab was in his spot once, but all he did was stare at it(must have been giving him the stink eye) the hermit did not move so I had to move him :D

Sue - What is the web address to "The Marine Center" that you mentioned? Thanks.

Also in case anybody is wondering why Liveaquaria.com has rare expensive fish now it's because they bought out Flying Fish Express and now have stuff being wild caught. Take a look at the "Collectors Corner" if you really want a laugh. I know the fish are rare and everything but it would be a little strange shipping a $1500 angel fish through FedEx. I wonderif the 10 day alive warenty applies.

Adam, I "think" that site is www.themarinecenter.com If that doesn't work then the next time I get a sale update I will surely send that email to you.

This place is the one in Dallas.

I just checked the link and that is it. So you're good to go. ;)
