I don't put much stock in anything that says it will reduce the need for water changes, but one of my friends up north was given a couple of these by his Killifish association (he is a breed preservationist) and he is swearing by this device.
Wondering if anyone as experience, or a more scientific mind atop their neck to let us know if the science is workable, and the gadget does what it advertises?

I have seen these discussed before but can't remember where.
The theory is interesting but what is in the tube. Magical natural magnets? I don't think the theory would hold up if a skimmer was in the filtration loop. I think this best resides in the closet with the magnetic and copper braclets. Anyway, I don't want anything without a plug ;)
Buy one and let us know what you think :)

I just put one in my 75 about a week ago...a gift....so far I THINK that I really do see clearer water . The only thing that I know about it is what I read in the Fish mag. I'm normally very skeptical (sp?) . So far , so good ! .....

If you so a search on here, I believe a couple of people tried them and found that they seemed ok at first, but didn't make a difference overall. I think the general consensus was to save your money.

My LFS here in Houston was given several and the owner was going to try them on his maintenance tanks. His 1 employee took one home to try as he has a sps tank and a softie tank. He was going to try the softie tank first and it is now nuked. This gadget and whatever it was doing or supposed to do just killed everything off. This guy knows his tanks so there was no coincedence. One of our MARSH meetings was about this product, given by the ex-curator of the Marine department of The Houston Zoo. He fully believes in them but Eric Borneman got him cornered at one point and he couldn't answer Eric's questions. :-D They were w-a-y over my head.

LMAO, I tried these pathetic "snake oil" contraptions........LOL...... I can't stop laughing at what a joke they were. I tried to convince myself the water was more clear and corals looked better...... After taking measurements and hundreds of pictures every few days, I realized after 4 months it was all in my head. Exactly what they are counting on by the people that buy this product from this crooked company. I sent mine back after six months and got a refund. I'll say that for them, they refunded the money promptly with no questions asked. Do a Reef Central search if you have a couple days to kill and you can read what the scientist have to say about this product. SAVE YOUR MONEY! I have some special fish food I can sell you that will make all your fish live forever for only $10 per pack. LOL....

Well,,, Here goes.
YES I read the reviwes on the thing and even called Bob Gomens about it. I bought one and installed it in april of 2003. It is still installed today. This is what I think about the product.
At first I felt it made the water look much clearer, BUT I feel I was just trying to justify the thing. To date I still have to clean the glass just as much, ORP hasn't changed at all and still get patches of cyno. OH yes, When I first installed it the plastic tube broke and I had to glue it. Don't WASTE your money on this thing!!!
P.S> I"M gona invent something that does ABSOLUTLY NOTHING and be a Millionaire. ONLY $19.95 ANYONE want to order one

Does the thing have an electrical plug on it? Doesn't look like it, therefore there is no infared. The first clue its a worthless gimmick is the word 'saturate's. What is a 'saturate' anyway?
There is Certainly is an absolute and positive benefit from a magnetic water treatment, but, only prior to your RO/DI unit on hard (aquifer) water if the magnetic device is not on the outside of the pipe. That fact has been documented in water, waste water and chemical effluents for the last 30 years or more.
