Ever since switching my MH bulb from Aqualine 10000k to the XM my tank seems to be a little too blue looking. The reason is because I'm also running one URI 75w Actinic R. I'm about to replace the VHO with either a URI 50/50 or superdaylight. Any advice as to which I should go with? The tank has SPS, LPS, and Clams.

I had a similar setup and when I used the 50/50 it was still to blue, so I switched to a daylight bulb and acheived a better look IMO. I guess it all comes down to if you want a blue accent or white.

Do you like how it looks without the VHO? Maybe you could do without it, or is it still too bright.
Im running dual 400WUshio 20K's with 220W 6500K VHO's to brighten it up a little. You can get some 6500K NO bulbs at Home Depot/Lowes/Walmart for like $3-5. Maybe try one of those on your VHO ballast, and see if you like that...cs

When I was using the XM lamps, I first supplimented with VHO Aquasuns, they sucked, too pink, I finally ended up with the Coralife 10k's, they seemed to be the perfect partner for the XM's. I think PC 10k's would give the same results.
By the way, if the AB lamp you have is 400w, I might be interested in it.

JimD - The Aqualine bulb is only 250 watts.
I think the XM's make the tank a littletoo blue so I'mdefinitly looking to whiten things up a little bit. I'll look into the Coralife 10K because I still want to have a VHO on the tank. The way I originally built the light, the fans come on with the VHO. I'm sure I could just remove the tube but I like having the extra light.

Youll definately like the XM better with the addition of 10k vho.
