I was at petco the other day, and they are now selling Natural Sea Water. Its bagged inside a cardboard box(sorta like fountain drink syrup). Not sure what company is selling it, but it was like $9 for PAL members or like $13normally for 5gal..... :-o

That would be $1.80/gal. with a PAL membership. Even with buying DI water, artificial sea water costs me about $.43/gal. I had an RO unit delivered yesterday. I'm somewhat intriqued by the idea because of the recent research data on heavy metals in artificial salt (see that thread). However, I still can't justify the cost differential. I guess the other question is what is the source of the water? If its coming from a coastal area in the US, as I'm sure it does, there would still be some pollutants in it that wouldn't be found in "pristine" sea water.

I could go for $1.00/gal., but not $1.80. I've paid more than $1 for synthetic salt water before I moved back to SA.

Yes it is natural, but low in calcium and other elements. Jim and I had a disscussion about it a few weeks ago. I was going to get it at wholesale and use it myself and group members, but decided against it. Jim used the water many years ago when he lived in Ca. and said he didn't notice any better result than with salt mixes. I'd be happy to set up an account with them still if you guys want to do a trial. I bet we would have to commit to a six month trial though if we want the reduced rate.
