I just tested my water, and my ammonia is at 0, and so are my nitrates. Should I put in some crabs or damsels? I did notice some worms crawling around the sand bed.....has been running since saturday.......no algae yet, so do I add something or what do I look for to know when its ready for something to go in there?

i got 65 lbs from Vinh, kinda base rock, and 35 from CB pets. It has some growth, but not much. So, what do I look for?

I would give it some time before adding anything. Try what Josh suggested, putting a dead shrimp in the tank to give it a boost start in the cycling process. What life is on the rock you have may not be enough to get the cycling started very soon. Properly cycling a new tank can take from a couple of weeks to even longer. I know that wasn't the answer you wanted to hear, but it takes some patience to get things started. Hope that helps :D

If you can get some Fritz 900 (I think) this is a great cycle booster. Will make the cycle ALOT faster.

If you could, pull out some of those CB rock out and smell it. If it smell ocean fresh, it should be cured. If it smell like rotton egg, it's still curing. I find that if you smell LR close to the DSB, most of the time, it smell rotton no matter how long it's been in the tank. If the LR smell rotton, there should be enough bacteria in the tank for it to cycle itself. If you want to speed up the cycling process, you can try what Jim is suggesting.

I agree. I wouldn't dump dead stuff in.
