Mushroom question....

How do mushrooms reproduce? I bought some from a LFS, and about a week after i got them home, something goofy started to happen. It was like it was getting eaten from the inside out, looked like it was gong white. I watched it for a few days as it got smaller, and when i got home from work today it looks like (i could be wrong) that i now have 2 seperate mushrooms. Kinda odd, there is still some white residue on them. Input would be great.

they reproduce mainly by splitting. in a healthy tank you can just about chop one to pieces and have that many new ones,,

I got mine on a frag swap in ayugust, and withinb a month it started acting weird. It's cap stayed real high to where you could see the base. Then the base started to look like it was blistering. It had bubbles all around the sides of it. Then it suddenly when back to normal overnight. A week later I noticed these little blobs on my rock. A couple weeks later those blobs that cam from the bubble sprouted caps. Now they have grown into full grown shrooms. Pretty Cool. :D

Easy to frag also. I've got about 5-6 different colors/variations....they may be "common", but I love mine.

hey alex long time no hear from ya bud, anyways i think there splitting, i cant seem to stop mine from doing so, they have spread out trought the whole tank now, started off with a little frag from josh and now there everywhere, some day you'll have that problem!!! take it easy talk to you soon!!
