I haven't had any trouble with my Florida rock. It has lots of bright red fan worms and dime sized algae eating starfish.

My friend ordered quite a few pounds from them but they came in with lots of little anemones that he just hated. I am not sure if they aiptasia as Joshua mentioned but I think so. Just letting you know this in advance. One thing is for sure, the gentleman in charge has great customer service. I think this is the main reason he did his second order.

Killing aiptasias is not my idea of a good time, although eventually, practically everyone has 'em, florida rock or not. DEFINITELY watch out for the mantis shrimp, though. Between Tim and Richard, there are good local sources for liverock. Not to steer you away from mail order, but have you checked with those guys? Good prices, and you can pick your pieces.

Oh yeah, I'd be real cautious about "dimed size" starfish. Brittle stars, fine, but most regular stars are amazingly predatory, I've read in a few places.
